EVENING RIVERS AND CANALS CRUISE

The cruise begins and ends at the stunning granite embankments of the leafy Moika River. Everywhere you turn, there are magnificent sights to behold.  Cruise past St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the Baroque masterpiece, Stroganoff Palace, Nevsky Avenue, Staff Headquarters and Winter Square into the Winter Canal which, at its estuary flows into the Neva River, affording  breath-taking views of the historical heart of the city at twilight. Sail beneath a series of artfully crafted ironwork bridges past Basil Island and Peter and Paul Fortress, an unparalleled experience not available on coach tours or walking excursions. While on the river cruise enjoy a glass of champagne and some fresh fruit (included)

Then, changing course up the Neva River, you will view the Palace embankment lined with buildings permeated with the history and whispering the gossip of the city; the Summer Garden boasting rightfully the most lavishly and artfully decorated cast-iron railing. You then turn into the Fontanka River and pass Mikhailovsky Castle; the macabre venue where the ghost of poor Tsar Paul I allegedly roams about by night. Ironically he was assassinated shortly after moving into the castle, and then you are back to the Moika River with the Field of Mars and Spilled Blood Church, a perfect finale to this evening ‘s magical history parade.
