Day 1: September 4 - ARRIVE STOCKHOLM - FULL DAY EXCURSION
Welcome to Stockholm!
As soon after breakfast as REGATTA clears customs, you will start a full day and evening visit of Stockholm with our English speaking guides of the Swedish capital. Famous sights you will visit include the Royal Palace, Parliament Buildings, Cathedral and the Royal Theater.. You will also visit the enchanting Old Town (Gamla Stan) with its narrow cobbled streets and numerous antique shops. A highlight of the tour is an inside visit to the City Hall with its famous Blue and Golden Halls, where the Nobel Prize banquet is held each year in December. Afterwards visit to the famous Vasa Museum. The impressive warship Vasa sank on her maiden voyage in 1628 but was salvaged 333 years later in 1961. She has since been restored and can now be seen with her complete rigging at the Vasa Museum. During this day you will also pay a visit to the world famous Absolut Vodka Ice Bar where a vodka "salut" is included. Then it is back to "REGATTA" in time to refresh for our Farewell dinner at a private surprise venue in Stockholm offering amazing views of the city and wonderful local cuisine. Day 2: September 5 - STOCKHOLM - DISEMBARK "REGATTA"
After breakfast aboard in "magical" Stockholm you will be transferred by private coach and guide from the pier to the Scandic Hotel Malmen. After a short break, you will continue on a wonderful 4 hours excursion with our local English speaking guides. After a short drive through Stockholm, you will board a boat for to the famous Drottningholm Castle, the current residence of the Royal Family. In 1991 Drottningholm became the first Swedish site to be included on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. There you will enjoy touring the palace, the surrounding Baroque Garden and English Park, the Chinese Pavilion and the Court Theatre. After the visit to the castle you will return to Stockholm by coach. Accommodation at the Scandic Sergel Plaza Hotel. Evening at Leisure to explore Stockholm at night. (B)
Day 3: September 6 - STOCKHOLM
Enjoy a full authentic Swedish Breakfast at the hotel before the start of a half day excursion with local English speaking to ‘Skogskyrkogården’ (The Woodland Cemetery). This Stockholm cemetery was created between 1917 and 1920 by two young architects, Asplund and Lewerentz, on the site of former gravel pits overgrown with pine trees. The design blends vegetation and architectural elements, taking advantage of irregularities in the site to create a landscape that is finely adapted to its function. It has had a profound influence in many countries of the world. Return transfer by coach to the hotel. Accommodation at the Scandic Sergel Plaza Hotel (B)
Day 4: September 7 - STOCKHOLM DEPARTURE
Enjoy your full authentic Swedish Breakfast at the hotel followed by check out and a private coach transfer to Stockholm Arlanda Airport for your onward flight.(B)
